Sunday, August 4: Day Four

Ah, Sunday. A short day. Also the Lord's Day. A day to atone for having given condescending glances to children who thought that just standing and staring at Roman or Jhonen was a good idea. (I was actually proud of one of the kids for using the phrase "condescending glances", which I've nicked here. Good vocabulary, young man! Now go away.) A day to reflect on the myriad crumbs of food that had collected on the booth's floor.

Into the box goes Joe.
A day to wear a very short dress that was completely inappropriate for taking down the booth and packing up everything at the end of the day. It was also too short for me to participate in the revered SLG ritual of shoving Joe in a box and then taping the box closed.

Still, I packed up comic books and rack shelves despite the dress, and then sat around and read the script from a proposal.

We went to a party that night – Graphitti Design's Dead Dog Party. Free food, beer, and margaritas. I don't like beer (have I
mentioned that?) or margaritas, but I drank a margarita anyway and then ordered a Midori sour. The rest of the crew did shots, but I know quite well enough to stay away from that, thank you.

Everyone's favorite raccoon.
The tables were covered with white butcher paper and each table had a little glass full of crayons, so naturally, we drew. Andi drew a picture of Kitsune and Tamsine from Skeleton Key and one of Mr. Raccoon from the same series. I salvaged Mr. Raccoon, but I'm still mad that other people drew over Kitty and Tammy. Damn them. Our masterpieces are compiled here: Bob drew Dan, Haskett, and me; Deb drew Haskett, Joe drew Bob, and I drew Bob (note the realistic green flesh tones). Why do my con diaries always end with horrible examples of my attempts to draw?
